Beauty Products For Less: Outlet shops

On my way home from my parents-in-law at easter, I had the chance to stop in at The Galleria shopping/designer outlet (on the A1, 20 mins from Brent Cross apparently).   I popped into The Body Shop’s outlet there, and it got me wondering….which other beauty brands have outlet stores?

Well, firstly let me say that I was quite impressed with The Body Shop outlet at The Galleria.  It was a big shop, a wide range of products all nicely merchandised and laid out, and clean and tidy just like a normal Body Shop store.  The sales guy was also incredibly friendly and just…nice!  From what I could tell the stock was mostly discontinued lines and gift sets.  

Off the top of my head I saw that some of the products were Papaya lip butter for about £3.00 (lip butters are £5.00 usually), Body Focus Cellulite Serum (which has recently disappeared from their website), Hemp Protector gift sets and a whole bunch of makeup such as cream eyeshadow, concealer pencil, glitter eyeliner etc.  All products in the shop are discounted of course, with some (such as the makeup) starting at £1.00.

I’m a bit gutted that at the time I hadn’t heard of “All Wellan Good” which is the other discount beauty store at The Galleria.  They have several branches around the country and I would’ve liked to check it out. They apparently stock Revlon, L'Oreal, Max Factor, Elizabeth Arden, TIGI and lots of fragrances.  A call to the shop tells me that the stock is a mix of discontinued lines and current lines, and that none of it is “seconds” (it’s all as you would find it on the high street).

I’d be even more keen to pay a visit to a “Cosmetics Company Store”, which apparently stocks brands like Estee Lauder, Bobbi Brown, DKNY, Clinique and MAC. There are a few of these around the country.

There's no hard-and-fast rule about what kind of discount you'll find at these types of outlet.  Some shops state "Up to 70% off" but whether the discount will be 10%, 60% or more really depends on the product.
